Users' Rating

Xcharge promises low discount rates on credit card processing, although fees are not disclosed on its website. To get a quoted rate, merchants must contact the company for an individual rate quote. Xcharge’s parent company, Accelerated Payment Technologies, has an overall good rating with the Better Business Bureau, with a relatively low complaint volume for its size. Merchants will sign a three-year agreement that comes with an early cancellation penalty. This penalty, according to the company’s contract, is the maximum fine allowed by law or the cost of the remainder of the contract in monthly fees, with merchants paying whichever of the two is smaller. The company has also had complaints about a PCI compliance fee, so merchants should check for that during the sign-up process.

With solutions for both American and Canadian businesses, Xcharge is an all-in-one payment processing service. Merchants can choose to set up the service to work with hundreds of POS software systems and business management applications, with a partner program that makes its application easy to integrate. Merchants have access to some of the best payment gateways, ensuring data is secure and compliant with regulations.

Instead of purchasing expensive POS equipment, merchants can also use Xcharge software on a PC. In addition to fulfillment centers that deal by phone and mail, this method can be used in traditional retail shops, including dry cleaners and health clubs. Through the Xcharge software, merchants have access to all of the processing service’s features, including reporting, and all they need is an internet connection or phone line.

For online retailers, Xcharge offers a suite of eCommerce solutions, including the XWeb Virtual Terminal, which allows for processing payments on web-enabled tablets and smartphones. This can help retailers set up a POS using an existing tablet and a stand. Businesses can also use Xcharge’s shopping cart solutions on their websites for secure online purchases using fraud prevention tools. Xcharge’s suite of merchant solutions also includes the ability to accept debit cards and gift cards. Businesses can customize their gift cards with their own designs and merchants can also request accessories for displaying and packaging their gift cards for sale. For debit cards, merchants can purchase a pin pad to allow customers to directly enter their own codes for privacy.

While some merchants may choose to operate Xcharge on traditional POS systems, the solution can work on an existing desktop or laptop, as well. This opens up merchants to be able to set up the payment environment they prefer. With mobile card readers, businesses can accept credit cards on smartphones or tablets, as well.
