PowerPay charges no annual or application processing fees, striving to be as transparent as possible with its merchants. Currently, the service is offering a 2.29 percent discount rate for Visa and MasterCard payments for those businesses that qualify and a transaction fee of $0.30. There is a $10 monthly gateway fee, but PowerPay will waive it for the first 250 transactions. Merchants won’t be charged a fee to set up Authorize.net integration or for early termination. However, businesses must process at least $25 each month to use PowerPay.

CUSTOMIZABLE SOLUTIONS

Merchants can use PowerPay as a one-stop shop for payment acceptance, utilizing the service to accept Point of Sale (POS) purchases, mobile sales, recurring payments, and more. The company sees itself as a partner for its merchants, working together to provide the payment options today’s customers want. For stores with POS equipment, this means not only allowing for secure, reliable credit card payments in store, but also accepting personal checks at the register. PowerPay’s software converts a personal check to an electronic check for verification, making sure a business receives payment at the time of the transaction, reducing a merchant’s risk. For businesses in need of an alternative to traditional POS systems, PowerPay offers ChargeEasy, a virtual terminal solution that can work with any PC. To use PowerPay, a merchant need only plug the card swiper into a device’s USB port and use the PC’s internet connection to process payments.

The solution uses Authorize.net’s secure gateway to keep all transactions secure. With AppCharge, PowerPay takes payments on the road, allowing merchants to accept payments using an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. The free app lets customers sign for purchases directly on the smartphone screen, with the ability to send a receipt directly to the customer’s email inbox. The receipt will even include a copy of the signature. This mobile feature can be used for card-not-present transactions, as well. PowerPay helps connect merchants with a solution for selling and redeeming gift cards and loyalty program points. While many SMBs may think these features are reserved for much larger businesses, PowerPay equips merchants of all sizes with the tools they need to offer these options. Unlike paper certificates, plastic gives businesses the ability to bring the latest security to their gift card and rewards programs.

EQUIPMENT

Merchants have several options in POS equipment, including terminals and thermal printers. For AppCharge customers, a mobile card reader will be provided that interacts with an iOS or Android device for mobile payments. ChargeEasy customers will receive an affordable swipe reader that works with an existing PC through a USB port.

PowerPay’s technical service center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Merchants can get help by phone or email. The merchant resource center also has helpful information for businesses.
