National Processing Company (NPC) doesn’t provide transparent fee information on its website, instead choosing to base fees on the individual merchants. Fees are based on type of business, volume of transactions, and the salesperson, so merchants may be able to negotiate terms that are lower than competitors. Once you’ve contracted with NPC, you will be subjected to a $250 cancellation fee if ever you decide to terminate your three-year contract. However, some businesses may be able to negotiate a waiver of this during the signup process. It’s important to get this in writing at the beginning to safeguard yourself against this fee. The three-year contract renews automatically, so if the processing fee is in place, there is only a small window of time between contracts in which a merchant can cancel.

NPC connects merchants with both software and equipment that helps them process payments securely and efficiently. The company works with the best manufacturers to ensure merchants have a comprehensive solution to serve their own customers. Working with NPC, businesses can even deploy the latest contactless technology to allow their customers to pay using contactless cards and key fobs.

Whether a merchant is setting up a system for the first time or replacing or expanding an existing system, NPC can work to develop the perfect processing environment. Business can accept credit or debit cards of all types, along with personal checks and cash. In the event a problem should arise with a payment, NPC can help with that, as well. Merchants can use American Express One Point to settle disputes for cards of all types, as well as receiving only one statement and ACH for all cards.

For mobile payments, NPC has both mobile card reader and POS tablet-based solutions available. NPC’s software works with Android, iOS, and BlackBerry operating systems. From reporting tools to troubleshooting to e-statements, NPC has a comprehensive merchant support area. Terminal support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via a toll-free telephone number. If a business needs help with specialty products like internet and e-commerce products, specialty technicians are available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST. Email support is also provided. Merchant account help is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
